How Dusty for Calgary Businesses looks after your data, including your Google Calendar if you connect it. Effective October 22, 2026.

Who we are

Dusty for Calgary Businesses lives at calgaryapp.com and is run by Fat Monk Films Ltd., an Alberta corporation based in Calgary. Questions about your data go straight to Jordan at jordan@fatmonkmedia.com.

What we collect

We keep the least we can and still run Dusty and this site.

  • Server logs. Page views, IP address and browser type, kept 30 days so we can fix problems, then deleted.
  • Analytics. Plausible, which uses no cookies and only shows us totals. No fingerprinting and no following individual people around.
  • Your business account. Your email, your business details and what you tell Dusty about your shop, like hours, prices, greeting and voice.
  • Customer chats. Conversations with Dusty on your website are saved so you can read them in your dashboard. A customer’s name and phone or email are saved only when they give them to book a visit or ask for a call back.
  • Payments. Cards are handled by Stripe. We never see or keep your full card number.
  • Newsletter signups. Your email goes to Beehiiv, our mailer, and every email has an unsubscribe link.

Google Calendar and Dusty for business

If you run a business on Dusty, you can connect your Google Calendar from your Dusty dashboard so Dusty books your customers’ visits straight into it. It stays off until you turn it on, and you can turn it off any time.

Which Google data Dusty uses

When you connect, you give Dusty two permissions on your Google account.

  • See your free and busy times (calendar.freebusy). Dusty checks when you’re busy over the next couple of weeks so it only offers your customers times you’re open. Google sends back start and end times and nothing else. We never see event titles, descriptions, guests or locations.
  • Create and manage events on calendars you own (calendar.events.owned). When a customer books, Dusty adds that visit to your main calendar. If the visit is cancelled, Dusty takes that same event off again. Dusty doesn’t read, change or delete any of your other events.

Dusty only works with your main Google calendar. It never touches calendars other people share with you.

Why Dusty uses it

Only to offer your customers times you’re actually free, and to put the visits Dusty books on your calendar (and take them off if they’re cancelled). We don’t use your Google data for anything else.

How we store it

  • The token Google gives us is encrypted with AES-256-GCM before it goes into our database, which is hosted by Supabase. It’s only unlocked on our own servers, right when Dusty needs to check your times or add a booking.
  • For each visit Dusty books, we keep the Google event ID with the booking so Dusty can remove that event later if the visit is cancelled. The booking itself (the time, your customer’s name and contact, and what the visit is for) shows in your Dusty dashboard.
  • We don’t store your busy times. Dusty asks Google fresh while a customer is chatting and lets them go once the reply is written.
  • We also note which permissions you gave and when you connected.

Who else sees it

  • To write the reply to your customer, Dusty passes the open time slots for that chat to our AI model provider, Anthropic. Only open times go, never anything about your events.
  • Our AI model provider doesn’t train its models on this data, and neither do we. Google data is never used to train any AI model.
  • We don’t sell Google user data. We don’t use it for ads. We don’t give it to anyone else, unless the law makes us or we need to deal with a security problem or abuse.
  • Nobody at Fat Monk Films Ltd. looks at your calendar data unless you ask us to help with a problem, or we have to for security or legal reasons.
  • Your customers see the open times Dusty offers them and the visit they booked. That’s all.

Google’s Limited Use rules

Dusty's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Turning it off and deleting your data

  • Disconnect Google Calendar from your Dusty dashboard any time. Disconnecting revokes Dusty’s access with Google and wipes the token we stored. Dusty stops booking online until you connect again.
  • We keep the token only while you’re connected. Visits Dusty already added stay on your calendar unless you delete them.
  • You can also remove Dusty from your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
  • To have us delete your Google data, or anything else about you or your business, email jordan@fatmonkmedia.com. We’ll do it within 30 days and let you know once it’s done.

What we don’t do

We don’t run ads. We don’t sell your data or your customers’ data. We don’t use third-party trackers beyond the cookie-free analytics above.

Cookies

We set a small session cookie when you sign in. Cloudflare may set a bot check cookie on busy pages. No advertising cookies and no tracking you across other sites.

Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) and Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act, you can ask what we know about you and ask us to delete it. Email jordan@fatmonkmedia.com and we’ll answer within 30 days, usually much sooner.

Changes to this page

If we change this page in a way that matters, we’ll update the date at the top and say what changed. If you’ve connected Google Calendar, we’ll email you before we change how Dusty uses your Google data.
